Product Features

Excellent Biocompatibility

Non-irritating and non-toxic to human tissues, it does not cause foreign body reactions or inflammation after implantation.

01

High elasticity and durability

It exhibits excellent resilience, resistance to twisting and deformation, and high tear strength (e.g., tear strength up to 25 kN/m).

It withstands extreme temperatures (-40°C to 220°C, with special grades reaching 300°C) and is suitable for high-temperature sterilization (e.g., ethylene oxide disinfection).

02

High transparency and hygiene safety

High transparency facilitates observation of fluid flow inside the tube.

Manufactured using platinum vulcanization technology, it does not release low-molecular-weight substances, is odorless, and complies with FDA, LFGB, and other food-grade certifications.

03

Chemical stability and physiological inertness

Resistant to weak acids and alkalis, it exhibits strong chemical stability and does not decompose into harmful substances.
Hydrophobic and breathable, it does not yellow or bloom over time.

04

Wide Range of Medical Applications

Suitable for urinary catheters, drainage tubes, infusion tubes, ventilator tubes, etc.

Widely applied in biopharmaceuticals, laboratory analysis, interventional therapy (e.g., balloon catheters, contrast catheters), and other fields.

FAQ

Q: 1. How should medical silicone tubing be disinfected?

A: High-temperature, high-pressure sterilization: 121°C/15 minutes (requires high-temperature resistant silicone).
Chemical sterilization: Ethylene oxide (EO), hydrogen peroxide plasma.
Irradiation sterilization: Gamma rays or electron beams (suitable for single-use products).

Q: 2. Why do silicone tubes develop cracks or harden?

A: Reasons: UV/ozone aging, high-temperature oxidation, or chemical corrosion.
Solutions:
Select silicone with an anti-aging formulation (e.g., with added antioxidants).
Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme environments (e.g., strong acids or alkalis).

Q: 3. How to address bubble issues in silicone tubing during production?

A: Raw materials: Use degassed compounding rubber or vacuum compounding.
Process: Adjust vulcanization temperature/pressure and extend degassing time.
Molds: Add venting channels or vacuum extraction devices.

Q: 4. How is the compatibility of silicone tubing with drugs tested?

A: Extraction test (ISO 10993-12): Detect leachables.
Drug adsorption test: Verify whether active ingredients (e.g., insulin) are adsorbed.

Q: 5. Can silicone tubing be reused?

A: Single-use products: reuse is prohibited (e.g., IV tubing), as it poses an infection risk.
Reusable products: require strict cleaning and sterilization (e.g., respiratory tubing), but have a limited lifespan (typically ≤10 uses).

Q: 6. How to select the hardness of medical silicone tubing?

A: Soft tubing (20-40 Shore A): suitable for precision IV administration and neonatal devices.
Medium-hard tubing (50-70 Shore A): General-purpose (e.g., urinary catheters).
Hard tubing (≥80 Shore A): Suitable for high-pressure applications (e.g., surgical drainage).

Q: 7. What should be done if "blooming" (white powder) appears on the surface of silicone tubing?

A: Causes: Uncured additives leaching out or storage in a humid environment.
Solutions: Optimize the curing process and store in a dry environment.

Q: 8. How to distinguish between food-grade and medical-grade silicone tubing?

A: Medical-grade: ISO 10993/USP Class VI/FDA 510(k).
Food-grade: FDA 21 CFR 177.2600/LFGB.
Medical-grade requires passing biocompatibility testing and has higher purity.
