Calculation Method Of Peristaltic Pump Tube Life

The life of peristaltic pump tube can usually be quantified in the following three ways:

1. Running time method: According to the cumulative working time, the life of ordinary silicone tube under continuous working conditions is about 500-1000 hours (refer to the "Fluid Transport Equipment Manual").

2. Extrusion times method: Each time the pump tube is squeezed, fatigue occurs, and the life is directly related to the rotor speed. For example, a certain brand of PVC pump tube can withstand about 1 million squeezes at a speed of 200rpm (data source: Cole-Parmer technical report).

3. Wear assessment method: By regularly measuring the change in tube wall thickness, when the inner wall wear exceeds 20% of the original thickness, it needs to be replaced (ISO 28580 standard recommendation).

In practical applications, the above methods need to be combined, and the calculation model needs to be adjusted in combination with the pump head type (such as single-channel or multi-channel) and fluid characteristics. For example, when conveying highly abrasive fluids, the life may be shortened to 30%-50% of the standard value.
