FEP plastic tubing is a high-performance plastic tubing extruded from Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene material. FEP belongs to the fluoropolymer family, combining excellent chemical stability, thermal stability, and transparency. It is widely used in piping systems requiring corrosion resistance, high purity, and high-temperature resistance.

FEP Polymer Tubing Advantages and Features

1

Corrosion Resistance

Resists a wide range of strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, and oxidizers, with minimal reaction to any chemicals.

2

High Temperature Resistance

Operates stably in environments ranging from -60°C to +200°C, with higher short-term temperature resistance.

3

High Purity

The material is non-toxic and odorless, with minimal leaching, making it suitable for the transportation of ultra-pure fluids or electronic-grade chemicals.

4

Low Friction and Anti-Adhesion

Low surface energy prevents liquid residue, ensuring excellent cleanliness.

5

High Transparency

Visible pipe design facilitates monitoring of fluid status, flow rate, and contaminants.

6

Excellent Electrical Insulation

Suitable for cable protection or signal transmission under high-frequency and high-voltage conditions.

7

Easy to Process and Form

Compared to PTFE, it can be processed via hot melt extrusion or injection molding, making it suitable for automated mass production.

FAQ

Q: 1.Can FEP plastic pipes be used to transport media containing particles?

A: They can transport low-concentration, small-particle media because their smooth surface is not easy to adhere to; however, high-concentration, large-particle media may wear the pipe wall. It is recommended to choose thickened types or match with wear-resistant outer layers, and shorten the inspection cycle.

Q: 2.Will the light transmittance of FEP plastic pipes decrease over time?

A: Under normal use , the light transmittance can remain stable for a long time; if exposed to strong ultraviolet rays or temperatures exceeding 200℃ for a long time, slight yellowing may occur, affecting light transmission but not reducing corrosion resistance. It is recommended to choose a light-shielding protective cover for such scenarios.

Q: 3.Is there a difference in performance between FEP plastic pipes of different colors?

A: No difference. Colors are only achieved by adding food-grade colorants to distinguish pipeline identification, and do not affect core properties such as chemical stability, temperature resistance and light transmittance.

Q: 4.What are the limitations of FEP plastic pipes used in vacuum environments?

A: Regular models can be used in environments with vacuum degree ≤-0.08MPa. If the vacuum degree is higher, thickened wall vacuum-specific models should be selected to avoid pipe wall collapse due to internal and external pressure differences; at the same time, ensure no impurities in the pipe to prevent scratching the inner wall during vacuuming.

Q: 5.How to repair minor scratches on FEP plastic pipes?

A: If there are only minor surface scratches, gently polish with fine sandpaper , then apply FEP-specific repair agent . After curing, the surface integrity can be restored; if the scratch is deep or cracks appear, repair is not recommended, and the pipe must be replaced to avoid leakage.

Q: 6.Can FEP plastic pipes be used in outdoor exposed scenarios?

A: Short-term outdoor use can withstand direct sunlight, wind and rain; for long-term exposure, it is recommended to install a sunshade protective cover, because ultraviolet rays may accelerate surface aging, which does not affect corrosion resistance but may reduce light transmittance and mechanical strength.
